Dr. Andrei Duta

Co-Founder and Managing Partner

  • Dr. Andrei Duta, CCIM, Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Alta Towers Advisors, channels his energy at the intersection of business and philanthropy. In the marketplace, Andrei facilitates mergers and acquisitions and provides strategic and financial advising to owners and CEOs of small to medium-sized businesses in various industries including industrial coatings manufacturing, medical, automotive, service businesses, restaurants, energy, and technology.

    In addition to M&A advisory work, Andrei focuses on commercial, industrial, retail, and medical real estate investments and development projects as founder of Texas Partners Realty. He is a licensed real estate broker and a Certified Commercial Investment Member.

    Andrei has a Ph.D. from Texas A&M University along with undergraduate and master’s degrees from Abilene Christian University. He is the founder of His Little Ones, a nonprofit organization supporting children’s ministries in Romania and India. In his spare time, Andrei reads, plays chess, spends time in nature, and enjoys listening to his wife Apurva play the piano. Together, they founded Duta Foundation, a private family foundation that helps the lost, the last, and the least through scholarship endowments, homeless programs, and medical support for vulnerable and orphan children.

Ray Torres

Co-Founder and Managing Partner

  • Ray Torres, Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Alta Towers Advisors. 

    Ray Torres is a leader and business strategist focused on helping organizations and business owners maximize their assets and investments. Starting his career as an International Banker overseeing Lloyds Bank Plc’s Latin American desk, Ray has developed a strong mix of financial expertise and business skills.

    For the past 30 years, Ray has held senior leadership roles, including COO, CEO, Chairman, and Board member, within family-owned and Private Equity-backed organizations. His record includes consistently driving revenue and profit growth at rates two to three times the industry average and securing attractive exits for all stakeholders.

    An M&A professional, Ray has executed over 30 mergers and acquisitions valued at more than $1 billion. His industry knowledge covers manufacturing, value-added distribution, industrial safety products, metal and plastic packaging components, custom and proprietary injection molding, specialty and concrete products, decorative paints and coatings, and the services sector.

    Ray is also committed to giving back to his community. He previously served on the Board of Trustees for A Precious Child, a nonprofit serving children in need in the Denver Metro area. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for CrossPurpose, an organization focused on lifting people out of poverty, and on the Board of Trustees for Rocky Mountain Partnership. Ray also contributes his expertise to His Little Ones, a nonprofit dedicated to transforming the lives of vulnerable children, and serves on the Boards of Directors for two for-profit organizations: Sashco, Inc. and Key Klean LLC.

Apurva Duta

Partner and Chief Financial Officer

  • Apurva (Devarajan) Duta, Partner and Chief Financial Officer at Alta Towers Advisors, focuses on establishing and growing internal technical and financial systems for the company as well as mapping out economic and financial models for various projects. In addition, she oversees operations and marketing processes.

    Apurva received her MSc in Entrepreneurship and Technology from Brown University. She holds an undergraduate degree in Economics and a postgraduate degree in Business from Mumbai University. She is also a licensed real estate agent in the state of Texas. Moreover, Apurva is a classically trained concert pianist who studied at Ecole Normale de Musique in Paris. She has performed in over 60 international solo piano concerts.

    Apurva serves on the Board of His Little Ones, a ministry supporting childcare initiatives in Romania and India. In her spare time, she reads, enjoys camping and spending time in nature with her husband, and continues to play the piano at concerts and various private events.

Karl Borik

Business Analyst and M&A Advisor

  • Karl Borik, Business Analyst and M&A Advisor at Alta, brings a service-oriented approach to building new client relationships and strategically expanding the firm’s network. He is passionate about creating new connections while maximizing value for clients and ensuring their success.

    Before joining the firm, Karl spent two years as an independent business broker in the Texas HVAC and M.E.P. sectors, leveraging his eight years of experience in sales and digital marketing to drive results.

Joseph Davison

Senior Associate in Technology and Operations

  • Joseph Davison, a Senior Associate in Technology and Operations, transitioned from a long career in film production and advertising, where he crafted campaigns for leading global corporations. His film career highlights include working on the Michael Jackson 'Slave to the Rhythm' hologram, the 2018 NBA Championship halftime show, and the Gymkhana stunt driving series.

    Beyond his film work, Joseph founded Good Gear, an equipment rental business serving the film industry, which he successfully sold. With a strong background in technology, he excels at creating innovative marketing campaigns. Recently, he relocated from Los Angeles to Texas to pursue a role in business development.

    Joseph is committed to community service and has volunteered with Big Brothers Big Sisters of America and the Union Rescue Mission in Los Angeles. In his free time, he enjoys backpacking, traveling, reading, and watching documentaries. He graduated with a degree in Economics from Texas Tech University's Rawls College of Business in 2007.

David Fenwick

Chaplin for Alta Towers

  • David Fenwick, Chaplin of Alta Towers Advisors is a longtime resident of the Austin area, having first arrived in the city as a student at The University of Texas and quickly developing a deep appreciation for the region.

    He began his real estate career in 1994 with a focus on farm and ranch properties, and over the past seven years has expanded his expertise to serve investors, builders, and developers, while cultivating a strong and loyal residential clientele. David brings decades of experience, a strategic mindset, and a deep understanding of Central Texas real estate to every client relationship.

    Deeply committed to building community with intentionality, David also serves as a pastor at True Life Church in Round Rock and is the host of the podcast Next Third Best Third, where he explores purpose, leadership, and life transitions with authenticity and insight.

Christopher Wells

  • Chris Wells is a founding partner of Victory Financial Group and a dedicated CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ with over two decades of experience in wealth management. He began his financial career in the Dallas area in 2003 and has since focused on guiding business owners, executives, and families in achieving financial success and preserving their legacies. Chris has specialized expertise in managing substantial, multigenerational wealth, often assisting clients with estates that exceed the estate tax exemption threshold. This experience equips him to offer tailored solutions for tax efficiency, asset protection, and intergenerational wealth transfer, ensuring that his clients' financial goals extend well into the future.

    Chris earned his degree from the University of Texas, where he was a four-year letter winner and served as team captain of the track and field team in 1999. Now residing in the Austin area with his wife, Jessie, and their two young boys, Chris enjoys coaching his kids' sports teams, spending quality time with family, and cheering on Longhorn football.

Benjamin Sparks

  • Ben is an accomplished tax attorney and trusted advisor with over two decades of experience in the industry. He specializes in federal and international tax matters, providing strategic tax planning and structuring for a diverse range of industries. Ben's extensive expertise includes assisting clients with the economic and tax implications of investments, conducting tax analyses across sectors like healthcare, financial services, manufacturing, and telecom, and guiding private equity clients in assessing tax risks during acquisitions. He also aids founder-owned businesses in minimizing tax risks and costs during sales.

    Ben holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Texas at Arlington. He furthered his legal education with a Juris Doctor (JD) from Fordham University School of Law and a Master of Laws (LLM) from New York University School of Law.

Angela Sandford

  • Angela Sandford, Fractional CFO, is an innovative business leader with over 20 years of experience in initiating, developing, and growing businesses, specializing in optimizing accounting operations. As co-owner of ATX CFO Services, she provides tailored accounting and administrative services designed to empower businesses on their journey toward financial excellence.

    Under her leadership, ATX CFO Services has established a reputation for delivering a comprehensive suite of solutions tailored to meet the unique needs of its clients. Angela and her team manage everything from day-to-day accounting tasks to intricate financial analyses. 

    She holds a BS degree in Biomedical Science from Texas A&M University and an MBA from The Mays School of Business at Texas A&M University.
